As a photographer and digital artist, I always strive to look for the different or unique - and when I can't find what I need, I go to work and create it. These textures are the result of my search for suitable textures for a variety of purposes - sometimes collage, sometimes 3D work, and sometimes as backgrounds for photography work. My hope is that you'll find them useful too. If you are looking to try out creating some of your own texture files, start with some of these and manipulate them into something different by using one of these textures or backgrounds and adding your own touches or creative process - from one free texture you could turn out three or four files for your own use. Make your own portrait backgrounds, use them for book or cd covers - be creative and have fun.

The textures of nature - that's pretty much what you'll find in this section. Blue sky and clouds, sunrises and sunsets, stormy skies, ice, snow, and a variety of textures that can be used to render ground planes or water planes. The textures are either hig-res photography textures, seamless textures, painted or created textures using photoshop, corel paint or other rendering software, like Apophysis. Some will also make interesting photoshop brushes for 2D artists. Also be sure to check the free stock photos section, because you'll probably find more images containing this type of texture.
