To download the textures right click on the thumbnail. When the full size image opens in a new window, right click, select "save as" and save the file to your own computer. A few of these files were created in photoshop, but most of them are photography textures. Besides these pages full of textures, you might want to check in the royalty free stock-photos section. There are a lot of free images in that area which contain textures you can crop out and use in other programs, like game engines and other similar graphics or scrapbooking software. The .png section contains images of objects isolated on transparent backgrounds, which you may also find useful in game creation, for use in e-cards or printable greeting cards and even business cards.

Photographic textures can be useful in the creation of backgrounds or as layered parts of a photoshop collage, and can be used to create some fun and funky text styles using Adobe Photoshop's Type-masking tool which lets you create text with textures or images easily (See the tutorial for this on Photography Blography or try the "Funky Text" tutorial). They can also be used in 3D rendering software and in the creation of games, or used as a new background in a photograph.
