In this section you'll find a variety of textures that can be used for rendering on 3D furniture, clothing, cushions, and any other type of object file that requires a textile or material. Some of these files are graphic designs, and some are photographic, such as the denim and jeans with pocket and zipper details.

Texture files can be used for many things, and some of these larger files can be used to create your own photoshop brushes, or overlays in photo-manipulations. Other ways to use the  texture designs and images found throughout our site are for things like backgrounds for text, or for creating custom text using photoshop's font & text options, or for images on greeting cards, business cards and posters, creating custom photoshop frames etc.

As a photographer and digital artist, I always strive to look for the different or unique - and when I can't find what I need, I go to work and create it. These textures are the result of my search for suitable textures for a variety of purposes - sometimes collage, sometimes 3D work, and sometimes as backgrounds for photography work. My hope is that you'll find them useful too. If you are looking to try out creating some of your own texture files, start with some of these and manipulate them into something different by using one of these textures or backgrounds and adding your own touches or creative process - from one free texture you could turn out three or four files for your own use.

As you go through the graphics, phtographs and texture pages you'll find references to many different software applications - such as the Design Works one on the upper right right. A lot of these are open source (Xara, ImageMagic, Gimpshop) which means you can use them and install them with no cost. Since these are free, some of them might be worth trying out.
