A good number of these texture files have been tested in software like Bryce and Daz3D (I use both of those in some of my work), Blender and a few have been used in SketchUp (see the link in the upper right sidebar) and in Paint Shop Pro (versions that have the animation function). Most have been created using stock photos, photoshop and corel paint. A few have been blended with Apophysis creations. Many of these textures can be used in web page backgrounds or other designs, such as e-greeting cards and printable greeting cards; scrap-booking pages and collages - why not grab some of these free images and give them a try.
Please - feel free to let us know if you need something and can't find it. We'll be happy to try and create something for you. As well, you might want to have a have a look in the free stock photos, the png files and the graphics sections - many royalty free images are available for free use, and some of those may contain textures you can extract to use in game creation software. Most game software only requires a small piece to create a texture from.
